Position Summary:

Pearson Online & Blended Learning has an open opportunity for a motivated and customer-centric Web Developer to join our Web Marketing Development team. The Web Developer role is part of the larger Web Marketing team and will be responsible and accountable for developing and maintaining various functionalities in support of our public-facing K-12 websites. This position will collaborate with other members of an agile development team to provide full stack development, Content Management System maintenance & production support, quality assurance & automated testing, and site performance analysis and optimization. This position will also interact with other cross-functional groups within the Web Marketing team to analyze and optimize our search engine optimization (SEO) practices, improve usability and UX of our websites, and to collectively achieve our planned lead generation student enrollment growth goals. We are looking for an inspired, mission-driven software developer, who can consistently translate marketing initiatives into stable working software.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Front-end development using modern web standards

Development of server-side code within our Content Management System (C#, Java)

Active participation in team agile ceremonies such as daily standups, feature refinements and planning

Debug and troubleshoot issues across a variety of browsers and mobile/tablet devices

Covert ad-hoc wireframes, mockups and sketches into usable user-facing features

Participate in design and architecture of new functionality to meet evolving business requirements

Assess and triage issues that occur in our various production websites

Strong front-end development skills (full stack developer is a plus)

3 years’ experience working with modern web standards (HTML5, CSS3, JSON, REST, XML)

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree – preferably in Computer Science or related field

Experience with multiple JavaScript frameworks (Angular, jQuery, KnockoutJS) and CSS pre-processing frameworks (SASS or LESS) is preferred

Experience building UIs that work seamlessly across various desktop, tablet and mobile devices

Experience with agile development methodologies

Ability to maintain and debug existing codebase

Proficiency with source control and code versioning/branching (Git)

Familiarity with web accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 compliance

Understanding of SEO principles

Strong ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills quickly through independent study, professional training and interaction with other team members

Ability and willingness to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced cross functional team

Self-motivated individual who values design/coding standards

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Ability to work effectively in a highly virtual work environment


Experience working with Cloud based platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS)

Familiarity with Content Management Systems (DNN, WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager [AEM])

Proficiency developing with CSS Frameworks (Bootstrap)

Experience developing server-side code (C#, Java)

Familiarity with A/B testing & website personalization tools

Familiarity with E2E UI testing (Selenium, Nightwatch.js)

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $70,000-$80,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. Benefits available to eligible employees can be seen at: https://pearsonbenefitsus.com/
